ENERGY PATHFINDER - PROMOTING ACCESS TO PROCUREMENT OPPORTUNITIES
In 2021 Ocean Winds started discussions with the North Sea Transition Authority (formerly the Oil and Gas Authority) to create a variant to the Energy Pathfinder supply chain portal. The free-to-use portal exists to promote and track procurement opportunities in the offshore energy sector. The NSTA welcomed the addition of an offshore wind project to the portal as they developed a revised portal and rebranded to Energy Pathfinder to cover the full range of North Sea energy opportunities as low carbon projects are developed.
Working together, the team at the NTSA and Ocean Winds agreed a format and process for uploading supply chain procurement opportunities onto the portal in relation to the Moray West offshore wind farm. The result has been that Ocean Winds has been able to post several direct contract opportunities aimed at Tier 2 and below. In addition, Tier 1 contractors to the Moray West project have posted several opportunities.
